Dusty Baker MUST Be Fired!

Haven't the millions of loyal Cubs fans suffered enough over the last 2 and a half years? Dusty baker inherited one of the best teams in baseball, and he not only managed them out of the World Series in 2003 but really stuck it to us in 2004!

He over-pitched our star players in '03, played Russian Roulette with the batting lineup in '04, and did a great job in driving Sammy Sosa to the Orioles (don't misunderstand, Sammy IS an overrated player, but trading him cost the team a LOT of money and hits we could have used elsewhere). Keep in mind, this is the same man who let his toddler run around the field during postseason games while with the Giants. Now he's poised the team to finish dead last in the National League through his one special brand of incompetence and inability to capitalize on the incredible offensive and defensive weapons the team has.

NO MORE! It's time to follow the example of the Red Sox and fire failed leadership! NO MORE! It's time to bring in a new perspective to the game, one that doesn't make more mistakes than Clinton in a deposition! NO MORE! It's time to bring in a manager with an understanding of the National League Central and how to bring the Cubbies to the World Series!

It's not too late to salvage the season! Contact the Cubs General Office NOW to finally put an end to this reign of terror over the Windy City.

Key Cubs Players Lift Team to a Winning April

If you had asked any true Cubs fan in March about the outlook of the team this year, you would have most likely gotten a number of worried glares in response. With April behind us concerns still remain about the health and strength of the Cubs roster in 2005, but there is as much to celebrate as there is to fret over.

Leading the National League in just about every concievable category is Derrek Lee, batting an astonishing .415 average with 30 RBIs and 8 home runs. This powerhouse has helped to energize the Cub bats, which took a hit with the early departure of Nomar Garciaparra...or so we thought!

Neifi Perez, a utility player that was suddenly thrust into the now-open shortstop position, has caught absolute fire with the bat in April. His average of .371 ranks him as a league top leader and a much-needed sparkplug for the team. Considering the estimated time the team will be without Garciaparra, a consistent performance by Perez could easily outmatch the person he's substituting for!

Jeromy Burnitz, a key acquisition in the off-season, has been worth every penny spent so far. His batting average of .305 and five home runs has easily filled in the gap left by the absent Slamming Sammy. Add to this his superior defensive abilities, and the Wrigleyville Fatihful should be excited about the prospects this man offers in the field and in the batter's box!

A number of other players, ranging from Corey Patterson to Jerry Hairston, Jr. have stepped up when required and pulled a bullpen-depleted team to an over .500 April. Considering the Cubs are chasing the best team right now in the National League (The always-hated Cardinals!), the signs look promising for a great run for the postseason.

Go Cubs!!
